AVEVA Process Simulation features a rigorous equation-oriented matrix solver that continuously solves with new inputs, enabling significantly faster performance than legacy sequential-modular simulators. Engineers can reuse one simulation across all engineering phases and switch modes between flow-driven steady state, pressure-driven rating, and dynamics at any time. It includes built-in Python scripting and can automatically integrate real-time operations data from the AVEVA PI System.

For mining and minerals processing, it is used in the design and optimisation of processing plants — comminution, flotation, leaching, and smelting circuits — enabling engineers to test design alternatives, evaluate sustainability impacts through built-in GHG tracking, and create high-fidelity process models that serve as trusted digital twins of operating plants.

The platform supports every stage of the asset lifecycle from initial design through commissioning and long-term operations, with the same base model usable throughout. This lifecycle continuity is a key differentiator versus traditional simulation tools that require separate models for design and operations phases.
