AVEVA Production Management

AVEVA Production Management (formerly Ampla) is a Manufacturing Execution System purpose-built for minerals, mining, and metals. The platform captures, contextualizes, and presents production data across the entire mining value chain — from extraction through processing to logistics. It provides end-to-end process visibility and data-driven decision-making based on a single trusted source of information.

The platform integrates with AVEVA's broader ecosystem including the PI System for real-time data infrastructure, Predictive Analytics for AI-driven maintenance insights, and the CONNECT cloud platform. Key capabilities include shift-based production reporting, downtime tracking, material balance reconciliation, and performance benchmarking. Newmont achieved $1.5M in annual fuel savings at its Papua New Guinea site using AVEVA's digital tools.

The product sits at the intersection of mine operations and process control — more MES-oriented than traditional SIC scheduling software, but increasingly relevant as mines seek integrated pit-to-plant operational visibility. Originally sold as Ampla, the product was renamed AVEVA Production Management and is now distributed through Schneider Electric's product catalogue in regional markets.
