About USIM PAC

USIM PAC performs mass balancing, simulation of all streams and unit operations, data reconciliation, equipment sizing, economic and environmental calculations, and off-line process optimisation in a single interface. It includes a built-in library of 150+ unit operation models covering comminution, classification, heavy medium separation, gravity and magnetic separation, flotation, solid-liquid separation, hydrometallurgy, and more.

A key differentiator is its detailed material characterisation capability — tracking flowrate, size distribution, mineral composition, physical properties, and phase changes — which unlike most chemical process simulators does not require thermodynamic databases. This makes USIM PAC particularly well-suited to the heterogeneous ore characteristics typical of mineral processing, where thermodynamic-database approaches often fall short.

Its unique supervisor capability automatically executes hundreds of simulation scenarios with varying operating conditions, enabling systematic sensitivity analysis and process optimisation without manual scenario management. USIM PAC has been available on annual subscription since January 2024 and is deployed in 50+ countries. Originally designed for minerals processing, its flexibility extends to biomass, waste processing, and other divided-solids industries.
