Cloud-based geological image management and ML-powered analysis for drill core and geological samples.
About Imago
Imago is Seequent's cloud-based geological imagery management and analysis platform, processing millions of images from tens of millions of metres of core annually. Acquired by Seequent in 2021, Imago provides exploration and mining teams with a centralised, searchable repository for core tray photos, chip trays, and geological samples captured in the field or core shed.
A key capability is its machine learning suite: AutoCrop automatically crops and linearises core tray imagery, producing continuous downhole image strips without manual editing. AI-powered mineral identification analyses pixel-level spectral information from photographs to generate mineralogical interpretations. As of Leapfrog Geo 2025.2, Imago imagery streams directly into the 3D modelling interface — giving geologists spatial context for core photos within their geological models for the first time.
Imago competes with manual photo management workflows and specialist offerings from Veracio (TruScan/Minalyzer CS) and GeologicAI's scanning-plus-imaging platform. Its primary differentiator is the seamless integration with Leapfrog Geo, making it the natural choice for teams already on the Seequent ecosystem. The platform is cloud-native, requires no on-site hardware, and supports collaborative access for remote geology teams.
