Seequent
Subsurface software for geological modelling and geoscience data management across mining, civil, and environmental sectors.
About Seequent
Seequent was founded in 2003 as ARANZ Geo in Christchurch, New Zealand, rebranding to Seequent in 2017. The company pioneered implicit geological modelling with its Leapfrog technology, which originated from University of Canterbury research. Bentley Systems acquired Seequent in June 2021 for approximately $1.05 billion, and it continues to operate as a standalone subsidiary retaining its own brand, leadership, and headquarters.
Since the acquisition, Seequent acquired AR2Tech (advanced geostatistical algorithms, December 2021) and Flow State Solutions (geothermal simulation, 2023), and launched the cloud-based Seequent Evo platform for geoscience data management and collaboration. Seequent serves customers in over 145 countries from 25+ offices across six continents, with major mining companies among its core user base. The AR2Tech acquisition has strengthened Seequent's resource estimation capabilities, with the technology being integrated into the Leapfrog platform.

Sorted alphabeticallyImago
by Seequent
Imago is Seequent's cloud-based geological imagery management and analysis platform, processing millions of images from tens of millions of metres of core annually. Acquired by Seequent in 2021, Imago provides exploration and mining teams with a centralised, searchable repository for core tray photos, chip trays, and geological samples captured in the field or core shed.
Leapfrog Edge
by Seequent
Leapfrog Edge is Seequent's resource estimation tool, designed as an extension of Leapfrog Geo. It puts block modelling, variogram analysis, grade interpolation (Ordinary Kriging, Inverse Distance Weighting, and other methods), sub-blocking, and resource classification directly into the hands of resource geologists through an intuitive visual interface. Unlike many traditional resource estimation tools that require separate software, Edge integrates estimation directly with geological modelling — when the geological model updates in Leapfrog Geo, the resource model can be automatically refreshed.
Leapfrog Geo
by Seequent
Leapfrog Geo is Seequent's flagship product and a widely recognized tool for implicit geological modelling. Rather than requiring geologists to manually digitize interpretations on cross-sections, Leapfrog Geo constructs geological surfaces mathematically from data using its proprietary implicit modelling engine. This approach is faster, more reproducible, and easier to audit than traditional explicit methods. The software supports drillhole data, GIS data, maps, geophysical data, structural measurements, and geochemical data in dynamic, linked workflows that update instantly when new data is added.
MX Deposit
by Seequent
MX Deposit is Seequent's cloud-hosted SaaS drillhole and point sample data management solution. It enables geologists and field teams to collect, validate, manage, share, and access geological data from anywhere via a web portal and mobile applications (Android and iOS, with offline capability). MX Deposit supports the entire mining value chain from exploration drilling and field sample collection through grade control drilling and environmental remediation sampling. Key features include dynamic data logging with built-in validation, embedded audit trails, QAQC and reporting for analytical results, and centralised data collection for distributed teams.
Seequent Central
by Seequent
Seequent Central is a cloud-based geological model management and collaboration platform. Unlike MX Deposit, which manages raw drillhole and sample data, Central focuses on managing geological models and project files. It integrates with Leapfrog, GeoStudio, PLAXIS, Oasis montaj, and IMDEX HUB-IQ for seamless model version management, project branching for modelling alternative scenarios, and interactive 3D model sharing via URL links — even for stakeholders without software licences.
Seequent Evo
by Seequent
Introduced in March 2025 at PDAC in Toronto, Seequent Evo is a cloud-based platform designed to centralise geoscience data management and collaboration across Seequent's entire product ecosystem and third-party applications. Evo brings together data from MX Deposit, Leapfrog, Central, and other tools into a single accessible source with consistent data structures, open APIs, and cross-platform connectivity.
