Cloud-based drilling management platform providing real-time operational dashboards, digital daily reports, and cost analytics across global drill programs.
About BlackFox
BlackFox is a cloud-based SaaS drilling management system acquired by acQuire in November 2024, originally built in Texas by founder Shea Croshaw. The platform addresses the operational side of drilling programs: capturing, validating, and analysing daily drilling data (plods/DSRs) from multiple rigs and contractors in real time. Key capabilities include root cause analysis by rig, driller, project, or region; mobile-enabled daily drilling report workflows with approval chains; customer portal access for mining company clients; multi-language and multi-currency support; and drill program cost management with variance tracking.
BlackFox complements acQuire's GIM Suite by managing drilling operations and productivity data, while GIM Suite handles geological data governance. Together, they provide acQuire with a broader platform connecting the operational drilling world (metres drilled, rig utilisation, contractor performance) with the geological data world (assays, lithology, QAQC). The system is designed for rapid implementation — days rather than months — and is hardware/contractor-agnostic.
BlackFox competes with CorePlan, Krux Analytics (KruxLog/KruxMetrix), and Colleagues Matrixx in the drilling operations data management space. Its differentiation post-acQuire acquisition is the planned integration with GIM Suite, which no other competitor can match within a single vendor relationship.
