About Hexagon Mining
Hexagon's Mining division provides a portfolio of integrated mining technology solutions. The division was formed through several strategic acquisitions, most notably the 2013 acquisition of Mintec (MineSight), whose mine planning software heritage dates back to 1970 — making HxGN MinePlan one of the longest-continuously-developed planning platforms in the industry. The legacy MineSight brand has been fully retired and replaced by HxGN MinePlan.
Additional acquisitions include Minnovare (~2023) and Mine Design Solutions (2025). The division's portfolio extends beyond mine planning to fleet management (OP Pro), collision avoidance, drill and blast optimisation, and surveying. Hexagon's 'Power of One' vision connects these technologies for life-of-mine visibility. Key clients include Rio Tinto (Oyu Tolgoi), MMG, and Kumba Iron Ore. The parent company, Hexagon AB, has approximately 24,000 employees globally.
