Modular Mining

Founded in 1979, Modular Mining Systems invented computerized fleet management for open-pit mining. Its flagship DISPATCH system — developed in the early 1980s — is deployed at over 250 active mine sites across eight languages, including nine of the world's ten highest-producing surface mines. The company operates globally with subsidiaries in Australia, Chile, Indonesia, China, South Africa, Brazil, and Canada.

Now fully integrated into Komatsu's Mining Technology Solutions division, Modular unveiled a major platform refresh at MINExpo 2024: the "Modular ecosystem," an open-architecture framework that adds four new DISPATCH companion apps and enables third-party integration. The legacy IntelliMine suite branding is transitioning to this new ecosystem identity, though individual product names (DISPATCH, ProVision, MineCare) remain in use. DISPATCH also serves as the supervisory optimization engine for Komatsu's FrontRunner Autonomous Haulage System.
