GEOVIA is the mining software brand of Dassault Systèmes. Its roots go back to 1985 when Gemcom was founded as a spin-off from SRK Consulting in Vancouver. Dassault acquired Gemcom in 2012 and rebranded it to GEOVIA, integrating it into the broader 3DEXPERIENCE platform ecosystem.
GEOVIA's three flagship standalone products — Surpac, Whittle, and MineSched — carry decades of heritage and are widely deployed in mine planning globally. Whittle provides end-to-end open-pit optimisation including strategic scheduling, cost and price modelling, blending optimisation, cut-off optimisation, and simultaneous stockpile optimisation.
