BME

BME is a South Africa-based explosives and blasting solutions company established in 1984, operating as the mining division of JSE-listed Omnia Holdings. The company supplies and manufactures a full range of emulsion products, initiation systems, cartridge explosives, and related accessories. BME has expanded from its African roots to operate in 23 countries across four continents, including significant presence in Australia (where it recently opened an electronic detonator assembly plant in Kalgoorlie), Indonesia, and Canada.

BME's technology portfolio is organised under the "Blast Alliance" software brand. The company has partnered with Strayos to develop XPLOSMART, an AI-enabled mine-to-mill analytics platform. BME also manufactures the AXXIS electronic detonator system, which includes software components for programming, track-and-trace, and integration with blast planning tools.
