Tailings Insight

Tailings Insight is a purpose-built SaaS solution designed to help mine operators achieve compliance with the monitoring requirements of Principle 7 of the GISTM. The platform integrates data from multiple sensor types and connectivity methods, providing near real-time data processing combined with programmable alerts and journaling. It delivers automated data collection, validation, and transformation, with contextualised insights forming the basis for quantitative risk analysis.

The platform supports edge data analytics, cloud-based data management, ESG requirements, and environmental risk management. It integrates SAR satellite imagery via the Synspective partnership for monitoring ground movement and land deformation as risk indicators for potential tailings failures. The satellite integration is particularly valuable for monitoring large, remote tailings facilities where ground-based sensor coverage alone may be insufficient.

Tailings Insight represents a software and analytics-centric approach to GISTM compliance, competing with Worldsensing's hardware-first approach and GDMS's 3D modelling-based platform. Its deployment at Anglo American's El Soldado mine provides a substantive reference case at scale.
