Strayos

Strayos is a US-based mining technology startup founded in 2016 by Ravi Sahu and Ali Ahmadi. The company provides a cloud-based AI platform combining 3D photogrammetry, computer vision, and machine learning to help mine operators and engineers optimise workflows across the mine-to-mill value chain. Originally focused on drone-based surveying and fragmentation analysis, Strayos has expanded into a comprehensive platform covering blast design, drill analytics, geotechnical analysis, and predictive modelling. The company has raised funding from investors including 43North, Halliburton Labs, and Dreamit.

Despite its small size, Strayos has achieved outsized market influence through two major partnerships: with Trimble (powering the Trimble Mine Insights platform, launched November 2025) and with BME/Omnia Holdings (powering the XPLOSMART platform). The platform is reportedly used across 3,000+ sites worldwide, with clients including Barrick, Imerys, Holcim, and ArcelorMittal.
