SimMine
Specialist discrete event simulation software built from the ground up for underground and open pit mining.
About SimMine
SimMine AB is a specialist Swedish mining simulation company founded in 2000 in Malå, in the heart of the Skellefteå mining district. Originally named Önnerlöv Consulting, the company was founded by former mine manager Johnny Önnerlöv, mining engineer Niklas Frank, and economist Patrik Stenlund. The first assignment was a pilot study for LKAB's Kiruna mine. SimMine software was developed from 2004 and publicly released in 2008 at the MassMin conference in Luleå.
Unlike general-purpose simulation tools adapted for mining, SimMine was built from the ground up for mining operations. The company operates through a global partner network including Datamine for mine design integration and 4Sight/SETEC as South African reseller, covering six continents. Users include LKAB, Boliden, Vale-Inco, and Cadia East (Newcrest).
