Seeing Machines is a publicly listed Australian technology company (AIM: SEE) and a global leader in computer vision and AI-powered driver and operator monitoring systems. Founded around 2000 and headquartered in Canberra, the company's machine learning platform delivers real-time understanding of driver and operator state through AI analysis of heads, faces, and eyes — detecting drowsiness and distraction events. The company employs approximately 393 people with offices in Australia, USA, UK, Germany, Netherlands, and Japan.

In mining, Seeing Machines has deep roots through its long-standing relationship with Caterpillar, which licenses Guardian technology for integration into mining equipment including haul trucks. A new five-year licence agreement signed in June 2024 included a US$16.5M upfront licence payment. Guardian technology has been deployed across 62,000+ vehicles globally covering over 17 billion kilometres. In July 2024, Seeing Machines acquired Berlin-based Asaphus Vision GmbH to strengthen its computer vision capabilities.
